Equipped for the growing seasons

As we gear up for the season of reseeding and planting, now is also the time to ensure that all the equipment we need is in order.

Although the smart gardening enthusiast stored everything in proper shape before winter, it’s still wise to assess now if you have everything you need for the coming growing seasons, even if you have a company like the Morano Group caring for your property. Is your equipment clean? Has something rusted and needs replacing?

Just as important, is everything in a place where you can easily reach it? National gardening expert Melinda Myers – a TV and radio host, author and speaker whose columns appear regularly in the Westchester and Fairfield County Business Journals, among other publications – suggests that you convert even an old mailbox for your small gardening essentials like shears and gloves. (Just make sure the postman is aware of this.)

Or you might convert an old shed – or build a new one – to house your mowers and blowers, rakes, hoes, hedge clippers and other tools as well.

Now is also the time to make sure sprinklers, hoses and nozzles are in good condition, too. (You don’t have to go to a high-end gardening center for these. You can find many supplies in places like Target or Rite Aid.)

The more conveniently everything is stored, in pristine condition, the more likely you will be inspired to use it for the tasks at hand.
